Staff nurse, former instructor

In a career that spans more than 50 years, Dr. Sadie B. Webster knows what it's like to be a student, staff nurse, and instructor. Between the Winston-Salem State University School of Nursing and Kate Bitting Reynolds Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, she participated in all three roles.

A graduate of the inaugural 1957 class of the school of nursing at WSSU, Webster went on to become a staff nurse at Katie B. for four years before transitioning to education at the all-black nursing school. "To God be the glory for what I got here," she said referring to her time at Katie B. A self-described life-long learner, Webster continued her education and later served as the nursing director at WSSU for three decades.
